Jermaine Jenas makes Yves Bissouma Manchester United and Man City transfer prediction

Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas has admitted he wouldn't be surprised if Manchester City or Manchester United signed Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The 24-year-old caught the eye in Brighton's victory over Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, with his contributions directly resulting in the second goal.

Bissouma is widely regarded to be one of the best players outside of the Premier League's established elite and has been linked with departures.

However, he has remained on the south coast and, while Jenas expects that to remain the case, he believes a future move to one of the Manchester clubs may be on the cards.

"He’s the type of player who [if he] popped up at [Man] City or United, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit," Jenas told Match of the Day.

"Where Brighton fans have to be delighted is that there has been talk about his future and look at the types of performances he’s putting in today.

"This is a guy who's committed to the club and they’re giving him a platform. The way he plays, the quality he shows and Potter is bringing out of him, that’s a player that’s enjoying life at Brighton Football Club so I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere this window."

Danny Murphy, Jenas' fellow pundit on Match of the Day, was also full of praise for the Mali international following his performance.

"His tenacity and versatility to do this side of the game - in terms of tracking runners - but his awareness and passing is terrific.

"He has the attributes to be a top midfielder. They’ll be desperate to get to the first of September and hope he’s still in a Brighton shirt."
