Jermaine Jenas issues damning verdict of Newcastle United keeper Martin Dubravka

Former Newcastle United midfielder Jermaine Jenas has slammed Martin Dubravka for the error he made in the first half against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Jetro Willems' first goal for Newcastle United gave Steve Bruce's side a shock lead at Anfield but Sadio Mane equalised with a blistering effort into the top corner.

The Senegal international was soon on the scoresheet again for the hosts, capitalising on a loose ball to tap home after Dubravka failed to collect Roberto Firmino's teasing pass through.

, where the verdict from Jenas on the Magpies skipper was far from kind as he made it clear he has to do a lot better.

"The keeper needs to sort himself out. He'll be absolutely red in his face at half time," he said during BT Sport's half-time assessment.

"He was just weak. He needs to be stronger than that. He almost looked at it and thought 'ooh, he's going to hurt me'.

"He's been good, Dubravka, but that was poor."
