Jermaine Jenas has stark warning for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea ahead of Leicester City clashes

Jermaine Jenas has warned that Thomas Tuchel's season at Chelsea could go from being "sensational to a borderline flop" if they lose their upcoming finals and miss out on the Premier League top four.

Chelsea are preparing for the FA Cup final against Leicester City at Wembley tomorrow, with the Champions League final against Manchester City to come in Porto two weeks later.

But following a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in midweek at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea now have increased pressure being applied on their place in the Premier League top-four, with Liverpool moving to within four points of the Blues with a game in hand after a 4-2 win against Manchester United last night.

Liverpool would move to within one point of Tuchel's side, if they beat West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, ahead of Chelsea facing Leicester City in the Premier League in west London on Tuesday night.

And ahead of the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Leicester tomorrow, former Tottenham midfielder Jenas has warned Tuchel of the importance of victory to ensure the season does not unravel for the Blues.

"This is a club that when you get to this stage of the competition, they are used to doing it," he said, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Is this particular group of players used to being there? I would say if you go through them individually, yes, but the reality is that two games and Thomas Tuchel's season goes from being absolutely sensational to a borderline flop.

"It is horrible to say, and flop is probably a bit strong, but the reality is if you lose these two finals and drop out of the top four, what else have you got? You've not done anything, you've not done what you have been brought in to do.

"Getting to the Champions League final is fantastic, don't get me wrong, and maybe Chelsea are one piece away from a title challenge next season, but it is now about how these players react [after the defeat against Arsenal], because they have put themselves under a bit of pressure now.

"Tomorrow is the start of that, and if they win this game, they put themselves in a great position mentally to finish in the top four and go into the Champions League final giving them the best chance against the best team in Europe."
