Jermaine Jenas has a warning for Arsenal and West Ham over Carlo Ancelotti amid Everton links

Jermaine Jenas believes former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will not be out of work for long, following his exit from Napoli.

The Italian was sacked by Napoli last night (Tuesday), despite guiding the Serie A side through to the last 16 of the Champions League with a 4-0 victory against Genk.

Ancelotti has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Everton both searching for new managers following the dismissals of Unai Emery and Marco Silva respectively, while West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is under increasing pressure after a poor run of form.

And former Tottenham midfielder Jenas thinks Ancelotti would be a good option for any club on the lookout for a new manager.

“It is a strange one, they win 4-0 and they qualify into the next phase of the Champions League," Jenas said, speaking on BT Sport's Champions League highlights programme, when asked about the links with Arsenal and Everton in the wake of his Napoli exit.

“I understand there has been unrest and the relationship has not been great between players and the hierarchy at the top of Napoli, and Carlo Ancelotti may have been involved in all of that, and that’s where the breakdown has come.

“I think for me, it has not been a huge surprise.

“I think he has got a lot of suitors that would love him at the football club, he has always done a great job wherever he has been, Chelsea being one, and I think the Premier League will come calling.

“As managers go, he would be one right at the top of the list for either Everton or West Ham.

“Once a name like this comes to light, things start to happen, because clubs want them.”
