Jermaine Jenas gives four-word verdict on Arsenal's clash with Everton that fans will agree with

As Premier League games go, it is fair to say that Everton's drab 0-0 draw with Arsenal is unlikely to live long in the memory.

The two sides played out a stalemate at Goodison Park, with both teams preparing for life under new managers after the respective appointments of Carlo Ancelotti and Mikel Arteta.

They were both watching on from the stands, with interim head coaches Duncan Ferguson and Freddie Ljungberg still in charge for the game, having stepped into the roles following the exits of Marco Silva from Everton and Unai Emery from Arsenal .

But both men will be hoping to see much more from their teams in the coming weeks, after a poor game on Merseyside, in which both sides were unable to create too many clear cut opportunities as they had to settle for a point.

It was the only goalless draw of the day in the Premier League, and on social media, former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas said it was the "worst game of 2019", with the stalemate perhaps unsurprisingly last on BBC highlights programme Match of the Day.

And speaking on the show, Jenas uttered four simple words that summed up what he - and many fans - thought of the game.

"It was a shocker," he said.

He is unlikely to find too many fans who will argue differently.
