Jermaine Jenas blasts 'ridiculous talk' about Spurs amid Harry Kane's absence through injury

Tottenham may be without Harry Kane at the moment, but they have still managed to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League without him in the side.

However, that does not mean Spurs are better off without their top scorer.

That's the view of former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas, who has spoken out about his old side's approach when Kane is not in the team, and the contributions of other players in his absence, such as Son Heung-min, Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura.

And Jenas has dismissed suggestions that Tottenham may be better without Kane as "ridiculous."

'The Harry Kane team he said!' - Spurs fans get the ultimate revenge on Pep Guardiola

"In big parts of the season they have managed to do that," Jenas said, speaking on BBC programme Football Focus about the performances of Son, Moura and Llorente in recent months.

"There is this ridiculous talk, in my opinion, that Spurs are somehow better without Harry Kane, or that Son performs better without Harry Kane.

"He is a world class striker, Harry Kane, and season after season he is scoring 20 plus goals, so therefore your team is a better team with Harry Kane in it, it is as simple as that.

The night Mauricio Pochettino the dreamer made Spurs believe they can win the Champions League

"Son, whether he likes the responsibility more when Kane is out, or he gets more supply, that's maybe another conversation to have. But he definitely steps up, that is the main thing.
