Jermaine Beckford has praised Patrick Bamford's performances for Leeds United this season and offered some tips on how the striker can improve.
Bamford set up the opening goal in Leeds' game against Barnsley but did not see much of a sight of goal himself.
The 26-year-old has scored 16 goals in 44 appearances this season but has been criticised by some for his performances for the Whites.
Yet, speaking on Sky Sports, former Leeds striker Beckford praised Bamford but admitted he could get into more attacking areas at times.
He said: "Patrick Bamford, persistence.
"That's something he's been offering the Leeds United team all season.
"He knows that he's up against it, he's not going to score from that angle with his right foot.
"He looks up, tries to find someone and stops the ball from going up - look how close it is.
"Millimetres, absolute millimetres.
"He puts it in a dangerous area and, as a striker, that's what I want - I want to see the ball put in those areas there.
"Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be exactly the same.
"You're not going to score goals unless you take opportunities like that or create them yourself and Patrick Bamford has been on the front foot.
"There's been one or two other opportunities where I'd have liked to have seen him just leave the ball as it was going across the face of the pitch out wide and aim for the box where he's going to be a threat.
"These are things he's still learning, he's still building on.
"Let's not take anything away from what he's done so far."
