Jermaine Beckford has urged Leeds United not to be distracted by other sides as they chase their promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites face Stoke City in their latest Championship test as they look to end their 16-year absence from the top flight.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are a maximum of 10 points away from returning to the Premier League with five games remaining this season, and look well set to learn from last season’s near-miss as they approach the business end.
Leeds’ main threat to making a return to the top tier appears to be the form of Brentford, who are yet to drop a point since returning to action last month.
Leeds will have the chance to re-establish a six-point lead over the Bees as they take on the Potters today, and go a long way to sewing up their spot in the top two.
And former Whites striker Beckford has urged the current side not to pay attention to their rivals during their run-in, believing they’ll have what it takes to secure their promotion.
“With Leeds United, the pressure is always on because it’s a massive club with massive status,” Beckford told Sky Sports.
“In terms of the results of the teams around them, I would say, you don’t have to look at the other teams around you - just focus on yourselves.
“Leeds are a good enough side to beat anyone in the league at any time.
“In my opinion, don’t worry about anyone else, just keep doing what you’re doing.”
