Jermaine Beckford says Leeds United lacked intensity in their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
The Whites fell behind early on to Anwar El Ghazi's goal and were unable to find a way back into the game as they saw a lot of the ball but were unable to break down a stubborn defence.
Uncharacteristically, the Whites failed to create many chances, moving the ball slower than usual, and they ended up being unable to find a way back into the game, much to Beckford's frustration.
Speaking post-match on Sky Sports, Beckford said he felt it was an off-night for Leeds and said their element of surprise had been stripped by their ponderous approach in possession.
He said: "From a Leeds perspective, it was frustrating, very, very frustrating.
"You see the intensity, it wasn’t quite what we were used to seeing, the passing wasn’t as sharp as we’re used to seeing, in the final third, we weren’t as ruthless either.
"But is that down to how good Aston Villa were in terms of their organisation and their defensive astuteness, or is it just an off-day?
"I’m putting it down to an off-day, I don’t think Leeds did many things wrong but at the same time, I wanted to see the ball get moved quicker than what it was.
"There were one or two players taking one or two too many touches which slowed the game down.
"It takes away the element of surprise, the work ethic and hard running we see from them and that’s where my frustration stems from."
