Jermaine Beckford outlines how Leeds United can stop Harry Kane this weekend

Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford believes Harry Kane will struggle to cope with the Whites' physicality ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash.

The Spurs striker comes into the fixture on the back of seven goals in two games for England in their World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino.

Kane may be in scintillating form, however the former Whites striker believes Leeds will pose a much sterner test that his two previous games.

The Spurs frontman has struggled to hit the ground running so far in the Premier League, after a turbulent summer saw him linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speaking to the Official Leeds United Podcast, Beckford said: "It's going to be an eye opener when he comes up against a more physical, more tactically disciplined back line.

"You can't let Harry Kane drop off, pick the ball up and find those passes. You can't afford him that luxury so if he drops deep to pick the ball up, get right in behind him.

"Put your hand in his back and let him know you're there. Don't let him turn because if you let him turn, the whole pitch opens up and it becomes massive for him.

"Again, it's the energy and work rate that we've got - the physicality - I don't think he's going to like that very much.

"We need to be on our A game. It's not going to be a game that anyone is expecting us to lose. We've been so good over the last season and this season our performances are getting better.

"We're getting key players back and we've got top players hitting really good form.

"It's going to be a good game for the neutral, but for us, I genuinely think we're going to come away victorious."
