Jermaine Beckford has declared his love for Leeds United's 'honesty' and believes they're becoming everyone's 'second team'.
The Whites have been lauded with praise for their performances in the Premier League this season.
Their free-flowing, attacking philosophy has divided opinion, with neutrals finding it refreshing, whilst others have questioned Marcelo Bielsa's unwavering attacking style which has seen Leeds heavily beaten by the Premier League's elite.
Only West Brom have conceded more Premier League goals than Leeds but their open, expansive style has impressed plenty of onlooking rival fans, used to seeing more conservative, passive performance from a newly-promoted club.
Despite their frailties in defence, particularly at set-pieces, Beckford believes his former side are a breath of fresh air which has earned them some new supporters this term.
“Leeds are refreshing and it’s a breathtaking addition to the Premier League seeing Leeds United play," he said on the BBC ahead of Leeds' FA CUp defeat to Crawley Town.
"I think they’re everybody’s second favourite team now, who didn’t support Leeds right from the offset.
"Some would say they’re naive in terms of their approach play, but I love it, I love the honesty you see from every single one of the players. When they come off the field, they’re all exhausted - it’s brilliant.”
On Leeds' defending, Jermain Jenas added: “They are right down there in terms of goals conceded from set-pieces in the Premier League. 10 goals they’ve conceded. The near post area seems to be a vulnerable spot for them.”
