Jermain Defoe has cheekily asked Callum Wilson if he is moving to Tottenham this summer.
Recent reports have indicated that Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to securing the signature of the Bournemouth striker after securing the services of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg yesterday.
While other reports suggest that Wilson tops Mourinho’s wishlist for a back-up forward to Harry Kane.
The 28-year-old England international has scored 40 Premier League goals in 126 appearances across five top-flight seasons with Eddie Howe’s Cherries.
Bournemouth are said to be holding out for £20m for their star man and Defoe has taken to social media to see if the rumours are true.
He wrote on Instagram: “@callumwilson u goin spurs or what bro” followed by a winky face emoji.
Former Spurs man Michael Brown recently claimed his old club will sign Wilson this summer provided the Bournemouth star is willing to play out wide.
He told Football Insider: “If it’s for £10 million there will be a queue of people who will want to buy him. It all comes down to whether they need a second striker.
“If a striker is going to Spurs they need to ask if they are a wide forward because Harry Kane plays the number nine role.
“If you see someone who can play out wide in a three or they can play two up top because Callum Wilson will want to play, I can’t imagine him going to sit on the bench.”
