TalkSPORT shock jock Adrian Durham has taken a swipe at Jermain Defoe after he appeared on Sky while Rangers were playing.
The 39-year-old is still a registered player for Steven Gerrard's side but has featured sporadically since becoming a coach this summer, playing once in the league.
However, he skipped the win over St Mirren to take part in punditry duties for the clash between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United sparking confusion among supporters.
It raised questions over his status with the club going forward in the behind the scenes staff.
Radio host Durham couldn't resist a dig at the England cap for his TV appearance.
After listening to a clip of Gerrard hailing Alfredo Morelos' 100th goal for Rangers, Durham quipped that the attacking coach wasn't even there for the game.
He said as soon as audio cut back to the studio: “In the meantime, Jermain Defoe was on telly wasn’t he."
Following the remark, he quickly switched gear to talk up the Colombian.
Durham continued: "I would say this about Morelos, I have been a big fan of his since he arrived.
"He is the best striker the Scottish Premiership has season since Henrik Larsson."
