Jeremy Ngakia will not play another game for West Ham after declining a number of "significantly improved" offers from the club and turning down a short-term deal to see out the season.

The 19-year-old, who has made five Premier League starts under David Moyes, has been in talks with the Hammers for well over a month with the east Londoners looking to tie down the academy graduate.

However, with interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League and in Germany, the right-back will leave the club when his deal expires on Tuesday.

It has also been confirmed that neither Pablo Zabaleta, who has been carrying an injury in recent weeks, or Carlos Sanchez will see out the remainder of the campaign.

A West Ham statement read: "In line with our structure and policy, Ngakia was offered significantly improved terms to reward his breakthrough into the first-team squad this year, along with further contractual enhancements linked to his future progress and success.

"However, the player and his representatives declined to accept any of the offers, and also turned down a short-term extension until the end of the current season.

"The club would like to thank Pablo, Carlos and Jeremy for their service and wish them well in their future careers."

Moyes, whose side sit above the bottom three on goal difference alone after resuming the campaign with back-to-back defeats against Wolves and Tottenham, has made it clear that he wanted Ngakia to stay on as part of his long term plans for the club.

The Hammers boss described the youngster's decision as a "mistake" in an interview with Standard Sport earlier this month and added that it was "a kick in the teeth for the academy".
