Jeremy Kyle Show suspension 'temporary', according to celeb due to be on it

Two of the guests due to appear on The Jeremy Kyle Show celebrity special have assured their fans that their episode will air at a 'later date'.

Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook and X Factor singer Christopher Maloney had filmed a special episode of the show, which was due to be aired on Tuesday, May 14.

News the show had been pulled from the schedules broke on Monday morning as a guest had died after filming for the show last week.

An ITV spokeswoman said: "Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends.

“ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured."

Westbrook and Maloney took to Twitter to tell fans the show would return and their episode would air while Maloney also sent his condolences to the family of the late guest.

Maloney told MirrorOnline:  "It's really sad news. I'm not sure of the actual details surrounding it but my thoughts are with the family at this time."

ITV also added the series would stop filming and an investigation would be carried out into the show featuring the guest who had died.

“Given the seriousness of this event, ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show,” a spokeswoman added.
