Jeremy Kyle Show cancelled permanently ITV confirms

ITV has confirmed that The Jeremy Kyle Show has been cancelled permanently.

The controversial show was pulled from air on Monday following the suspected suicide of guest Steve Dymond, and today the channel announced it will not be returning, the Mirror reports.

Carolyn McCall, ITV ’s CEO, said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.

“Everyone at ITV's thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.”

"The previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue.

"ITV will continue to work with Jeremy Kyle on other projects."

Steve - who suffered from depression - was found dead just days after failing a lie detector test on the show, which first aired in 2005.

According to Shelly, 55, he was 'sobbing and distraught' when he returned from filming on May 2 after failing a lie-detector test on whether he'd cheated on his on-off girlfriend, Jane Callaghan.

"He told me he had wanted to kill himself when he was being driven back to Portsmouth by a taxi that the show had booked," Shelly told the Daily Mail.

"He said he thought about overdosing on his medication and throwing himself out the moving car. He was just a mess and he was just humilated."
