Liverpool fans think they've spotted the next Sadio Mane after a bright performance from Belgium winger Jeremy Doku at Euro 2020.
The 19-year-old made his first start in this summer's tournament, his eighth in total for the Red Devils.
Having already secured qualification with their comeback win over Denmark, Roberto Martinez's side eventually broke the Finland rear-guard to secure the perfect group stage after Thomas Vermaelen's header ricocheted off the post hitting the Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky before crossing the line.
Doku showed glimpses of quality and danger for the Belgian's in the first half, his best chance came as he burst inside and curled towards the far corner only to be denied by the strong left arm of Hradecky.
He lasted 76 minutes and did his chances of featuring further in the competition no harm as he constantly had the Finland defenders twisting and turning. Prior to his departure, he created three opportunities.
The Rennes forward scored two goals and got three assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
But during Belgium's 2-0 win over Finland, Reds fans spotted similarities between their Senegalese star and the 19-year-old wonderkid.
Earlier this year, he sent Liverpool fans into a frenzy after his comments suggested that he turned down the chance to join the six-time Champions League winners to focus on his development despite talks with Steven Gerrard, Jurgen Klopp and Mane.
He told Ouest France: "Everyone talks about Liverpool because it was the most concrete interest but there was also Arsenal and Chelsea.
"I was able to discuss with Jurgen [Klopp], Mane, [Georginio] Wijnaldum… [Steven] Gerrard too. I talked a lot with Mane but we didn't really talk about football. We talked about everything.
"As soon as I’m asked if I regret it, I always say no, because if Liverpool came to me at 15, if they like me, they’ll come back later, that’s certain. It’s up to me to be play well."
