Jeremy Corbyn 'spotted on Google Street View' riding his bike

A man captured on Google Street View riding a familiar red bike is believed to be Jeremy Corbyn.

The Labour leader and keen cyclist is often spotted leaving his Islington home with his Raleigh bike in tow.

The Guido Fawkes blog first suggested a man spotted in Mr Corbyn’s constituency of Islington North on Google Maps was Mr Corbyn himself, claiming the “unpolished shoes and blurry grey beard” were a give away.

Mr Corbyn has ignored pleas from his staff to utilise his official car and continues to cycle to visit his constituents, once telling The Guardian: “Well, I don’t spend a lot of money, I lead a very normal life, I ride a bicycle and I don’t have a car.”

He faced criticism in January after recommending a £475 aluminium-framed Raleigh Criterium when asked about commuter bikes in an interview. His supporters then raised nearly £6,000 to buy him the bike as a present for his birthday, which he said he would donate to charity

A spokesperson for Mr Corbyn could not confirm if it was him in the image.
