Jeremy Corbyn has been filmed comforting a victim of the floods in Cumbria by singing "Happy Birthday" to her.
Liz Fitton, whose home in Cockermouth was flooded with 5ft of water on Sunday, was met by Mr Corbyn as he walked around the flood sites.
It was Mrs Fitton’s 65th birthday today, and she thanked Mr Corbyn “so much” for coming to the area as he sung her birthday wishes.
She told Buzzfeed News: “Our house has flooded three times here in Cockermouth. I saw Jeremy here today and I said ‘I’d like to have a hug from you please because it’s my birthday’, and he gave me a big hug.”
She added: "Then I told him I’m 65 today and he said ‘Shall we all sing Liz ‘Happy Birthday’?’ and we did – it was his suggestion!”
