- Jeremy Corbyn's new political venture, Your Party, has been plunged into fresh chaos after co-founder Zarah Sultana sent an "unauthorised email" inviting supporters to sign up for paid memberships.
- Mr Corbyn announced he is seeking legal advice regarding the email, which declared "our membership portal is now open", and urged supporters to ignore it and cancel any direct debits.
- Ms Sultana, in response, said she had been sidelined by the party she co-founded and that she has “been subjected to what can only be described as a sexist boys’ club”.
- She said she had sent out the membership email to “safeguard the grassroots involvement” that she believes necessary to the party’s success.
- Mr Corbyn earlier confirmed the party will hold a founding conference in November, with delegates chosen by lottery, amidst ongoing confusion over its placeholder name.
