The then Labour backbencher spoke passionately against the UK's involvement in the Iraq war.
On that day, 15 February 2003, millions of people in more than 600 cities across the world took part in the co-ordinated protest.
Just over one month later, on 19 March, American forces backed by a coalition mainly consisting of UK troops invaded Iraq.
