- Jeremy Corbyn has outlined plans for a new "alternative" political party, pledging to "serve the people" as he has "always done".
- Appearing on Peston, Mr Corbyn discussed the possibility of transforming The Independent Alliance, a parliamentary faction formed in September 2024, into a formal party.
- He stated that the faction of five MPs works effectively together and will unite to form an "alternative group".
