Jeremy Corbyn expected to visit Bristol this week for rally

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is expected to be speaking at a rally in Bristol later this week.

The event, taking place on Thursday (October 24) is being advertised on the Labour Party's website.

A venue has not been confirmed - but details of exactly where the event is taking place will be sent to attendees with their tickets once they RSVP.

However according to a map on the party's website the venue could be located close to Temple Meads railway station.

The rally, which takes place from 6pm to 8pm, is said to include live music and speeches including Jeremy Corbyn who will set out Labour's plans to "deliver a better future".

It's been exactly a year since Mr Corbyn last visited the city. He came to Bristol in October last year to mark Black History Month.

During his visit he met and paid tribute to Bristol civil rights activist Paul Stephenson and also went to the 'Alone with Empire' film installation at the Vestibule Art Space at Bristol City Hall.

The visit this week, however is likely to have a very different feel.

Mr Corbyn and the Labour Party are very much gearing up for a potential general election and it is likely this week's event will feel more like a campaign.

How soon that will happen - who knows? But with the Brexit deadline now less than two weeks away a deal is looking far less likely. Which means the issue of deal or no deal could be coming to a head very soon.

And with the removal of the stumbling block which stopped Mr Corbyn from voting in favour of an election - Brits could be heading to the polls again soon.

For details about Thursday's rally visit the Labour website.
