I wrote to the general secretary of the Labour party two weeks ago, copied to the leader, to ask that an inquiry be held into allegations that Andrew Fisher had breached the party’s rules by proclaiming support for a candidate other than the official Labour candidate (Report, 7 November), and how come this person was now employed in the leader’s office. No courtesy of a reply so far. But I am intrigued that Jeremy Corbyn has now discovered the importance of abiding by rules and protocols. Let’s hope he has been on the road to Damascus.
