Jeremy Corbyn confirms he'll vote in new Brexit referendum - but doesn't say how

Jeremy Corbyn today confirmed he will vote in a second Brexit referendum - despite staying publicly neutral during the campaign.

But it probably won't surprise you to learn the Labour leader is staying tight-lipped about how he will actually vote.

Despite a string of shadow Cabinet ministers vowing to back Remain, Mr Corbyn said "you'll have to wait and see" how he'll act in the privacy of the polling booth.

Mr Corbyn made the admission as he was grilled by Sky News on his policy to negotiate a new Brexit deal in three months, and put it to a referendum in six.

He insisted his neutral stance was "showing leadership", saying: "Yes because this country has got to come together, we can’t be forever negotiating how people voted or debating how people voted in 2016."

Asked if he would vote himself he said: "Yeah, yeah."

Asked if he'll say at the time how he will vote he replied: "You’ll have to wait and see."

He added: "Listen, I want to negotiate a deal with the European Union that does protect manufacturing industry, trade and jobs and does protect the trade relationship that we have with Europe.

"Because if we go down the road that Prime Minister is taking us to with a sweetheart deal with the United States, there is going to be huge threats to industry all around the country."
