Jeremy Clarkson targeted by protestors with compost dumped on his Range Rover

Jeremy Clarkson was left stunned as protestors dumped compost over his Range Rover in response to his extension plans for Diddly Squat farm.

The former Top Gear presenter was left gobsmacked by eco-warriors using a digger to drop three tonnes of mushroom compost over his gleaming motor.

Activists have been concerned about the TV star's plans to expand his farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire and took direct action on Tuesday morning.

Protestors have been camping next to his Diddly Squat farm to voice their concern for the 61-year-old's expansion proposals - something they feel could increase traffic in the village and damage to the soil.

Jeremy arrived at the farm with his partner Lisa Hogan on Tuesday and was lost for words when he witnessed the protest.

The Clarkson's Farm star looked flabbergasted as he observed the incident unfolding outside his Diddly Squat farm shop; with protestors cheering and waving placards - one of which read: "Soil has feeling, Clarkson doesn't."

The TV personality, who stars in an Amazon Prime series about his countryside antics, opened the shop last year and has been met with opposition as he plans to expand the outlet.

Arriving at the site on Tuesday morning in an attempt to chat with the protestors, Jeremy discovered graffiti declaring: "Save our Turf, Save the Earth."

As tension mounted, tempers began to flare and the Amazon Prime personality was forced to watch in horror as a man driving a digger offloaded a heap of compost all over his pristine dark green Range Rover.

Another protestor could be seen on the roof of the motor; egging his comrade on and helping direct the digger towards its desired target.

As Jeremy's car soon became covered in a heap of mushrooms, the dad-of-three looked taken aback as he briefly turned away from the scene to chat to his partner.

The broadcaster then wandered over to his newly-covered Range Rover to examine just what has been dumped all over his expensive vehicle.

Elsewhere during the protest, one of the activists was filmed running and dancing naked as a police officer tried to defuse the situation and prevent the protestor from getting close to TV star Jeremy.

Speaking to MailOnline, one onlooker compared the scene to 'something out of a Monty Python movie' and confessed that they 'felt sorry' for the celebrity farm owner.

"First there was a naked man being chased by a policeman and then this digger appears out of nowhere and dumps all this stuff all over the car. What really shocked me was that Clarkson didn't say a word, which is not like him at all," the eye-witness told the publication.

"Normally he has an opinion on everything, but he just stood there silent as all this stuff landed on his car."

They also added that the protestors confirmed to them that 'they had dumped three tonnes of mushroom compost over the ca' during the protest.

"But what really surprised me is that the police didn't do anything," the unnamed eye-witness continued.

"Soon after the car was covered in compost, they just left and so did Clarkson. Then some people from the farm started cleaning up the car as the protestors looked on."

The protests come as Jeremy continues his battle to expand the farm he bought back in 2008.

The TV presenter opened a farm shop last year to sell merchandise and food produced at his Diddly Squat Farm and now wants to build a restaurant in an old lambing shed on his land.

However, the star has been hit with resistance from locals, neighbours and activists who have a number of concerns over the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? presenter's ambitious plans.
