Jeremy Clarkson takes a swipe at BBC and Top Gear fracas in first Amazon advert

Jeremy Clarkson has appeared in his first advert for Amazon, and couldn’t resist getting a quick dig in about the Top Gear fracas that led to his departure from the show.

Clarkson and his former co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May all left Top Gear after the BBC chose not to renew Clarkson’s contract.

The trio signed a lucrative contract worth a reported £10 million with Amazon Prime for a new motoring show.

Clarkson features in the advert for the streaming service's new product, the Fire TV Stick.

“Back in the spring, as you probably remember, I suddenly became un-busy,’ he says. “And that was OK because I had one of these – an Amazon Fire TV stick.

“Everything you could possibly want – Demand 5, Netflix,” he adds, before shaking his head at the BBC iPlayer symbol and skipping past it. “It’s almost perfect. No, wait. It is perfect.”
