The show follows t he presenter, who has no experience in agriculture, attempting to run a farm in the countryside.

But fans may be disappointed with the latest update.

At the end of the first season, Jeremy said he was happier than he had ever been as he and his team, including his girlfriend Lisa, celebrated and reflected on a tough year, reports YorkshireLive.

This prompted hope from fans that there would be a second series of the programme.

Twitter user James Jay tweeted Jeremy to ask if rumours Amazon cameras were at the farm once again.

However, the response was what fans would have been fearing.

Jeremy replied: "No. We aren’t. Write to Amazon, it’s their decision."

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter had previously been quick to beat down the rumours, responding to a tweet allegedly confirming the news: "Not sure where this 'second series' stuff is coming from. Nothing is confirmed."

Fans have loved the show and begged Clarkson to make another series. One wrote on Twitter: "Jeremy, I just finished Season 1 of "Clarkson's Farm" on Amazon.

"Wow... I am deeply impressed! Such great moments, pictures and impressions you gave us.

"While your summary of the first year as a farmer, I had wet eyes. Please continue to show us more of your farm."

Another added: "I hope you can do a second series. The first one was brilliant! Great family viewing ( my boys are 12 and 14).

"We haven’t laughed like that for a long time!"
