Jeremy Clarkson says Mounjaro weight-loss injections caused NTA wardrobe malfunction

Jeremy Clarkson nearly faced an embarrassing slip-up at the National Television Awards before his partner Lisa Hogan stepped in to help.

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter, 65, was collecting the award for Best Factual Entertainment at London’s O2 Arena when he admitted that his trousers were sliding down.

“Thank you, everybody,” he told the audience. “I should explain I’m on Mounjaro… my trousers are falling down.”

After a failed attempt to hitch them up, Hogan came to the rescue, holding them in place while he continued with his acceptance speech.

“Um, first of all — thank you. Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up while I make a very short speech,” Clarkson joked.

The Grand Tour star has spoken openly about his health in recent years, explaining how he turned to weight-loss injections after struggling with side-effects from earlier treatments.

Clarkson previously tried Ozempic but suffered severe sickness, quipping that it made him feel like a “bulimic Henry VIII” while actually gaining half a stone.

In March, he revealed he had since switched to Mounjaro, a weight-loss injection recently approved by the NHS, which he said he was “microdosing.”

Writing in The Times, he explained: “When you’re on Muntjac, you can come down in the morning and idly help yourself to a small handful of sunflower seeds.

“And it’ll feel like you’ve just finished a massive Christmas lunch. You’re stuffed.”

But while the drug has curbed his chocolate cravings, he confessed to indulging in a different luxury treat instead, snail cavier.

In February, Clarkson said he was doing “everything in his power to not die” following his heart surgery last year.

The Clarkson’s Farm star had a stent fitted to his heart in October to improve blood flow after a “sudden deterioration” in his health.

Clarkson has now explained that he’s trying various methods to get healthier so he can enjoy more time with his grandchildren.

He is a grandfather to Arlo Rose, two, and one-month-old Xanthe Fiadh from his eldest daughter Emily.

Aside from taking an Ozempic-style drug, he revealed at the time that he was also doing Pilates to lose weight.

The Grand Tour star explained that he has previously failed to get into a fitness routine because he dislikes discomfort, doesn’t enjoy cycling and finds gym-goers “weird”.

However, he revealed he now does Reformer Pilates - a full-body workout that uses a bed-like machine with springs and ropes - and joked that he doesn’t “unenjoy” it “mostly because it’s done in slow motion”.

Clarkson revealed last October that he noticed serious health issues while on holiday.

He detailed how a swim while on holiday in the Indian Ocean appeared to cause him difficulties using the stairs, which when he returned home meant a “sudden deterioration began to gather pace”.

He had symptoms of being “clammy”, with a “tightness in my chest”, and “pins and needles in my left arm”, and after hearing the news of former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond’s fatal heart attack, he decided to go to see his doctor.

Clarkson was taken to the hospital via an ambulance, where doctors said he was perhaps “days away” from getting very ill.

He was fitted with a stent, which can save lives and stop future heart attacks through improving blood flow to the heart.

The pub owner previously revealed he had to quit smoking after contracting pneumonia on holiday in Spain.
