Jeremy Clarkson’s new farm shop is 'cheaper than Aldi'

The queue to enter Jeremy Clarkson’s new farm shop on Saturday was very long. Expectedly so.

After receiving official permission to open the place back in November, three months after, Squat Shop has finally launched at Diddly Squat Farm, Birmingham Live reports.

The shop specialises in meat-free products such as eggs, horseradish and potatoes, which you can get for £1.02 per 2kg -  "less than Aldi", according to a sign.

However, the shop seems to openly mock sustainable methods of farming, labelling some of its products as ‘NON organic’, while another sign read ‘’drizzle in fungicide’’.

Sayyora Kingston was among the first 100 people to turn up - and one of the first through the door.

She was stuck in a queue of traffic waiting to get in.

She said: "It was definitely busy out there and muddy, about 100 people there when I left."

The opening was filmed by a crew for his upcoming Amazon Prime series, 'I Bought The Farm, which follows his exploits at the 1,000-acre farm near Chadlington.

The shop was closed on Sunday because "it’s a day for the baby Jesus," Clarkson tweeted.

"Also, because I’m going to Tanzania," he added.

Aldi opened its first UK store in Birmingham in the early 1990s.
