Jeremy Clarkson is to host live studio recordings in the UK, US and Germany for his new Amazon show, The Grand Tour.

Last month, Amazon revealed that Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May would be reunited in front of a live audience in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Amazon said that the live studio filming at each location will be “housed within a giant tent”.

More cities are expected to be added to the live audience filming schedule later this year with the new show set to debut on the Amazon Prime video service in the autumn.

“Fans have been asking us where The Grand Tour will be filming and how they can attend,” said Jay Marine, vice-president of Amazon Video Europe. “We’re delighted to announce today new studio locations in the UK, US and Germany as we continue our plans to bring this anticipated Amazon Prime show to fans around the world.”

Amazon has announced a prize draw for its customers to win a trip to attend the studio recording which includes travel, accommodation and meeting the three former Top Gear hosts.

The announcement about the filming of Clarkson’s show comes amid troubled times for Top Gear.

Earlier this week lead host Chris Evans quit the BBC2 show amid record low ratings and claims that his relationship with co-host Matt LeBlanc had broken down.
