Jeremy Clarkson posts annual A Level results day tweet and the Internet has the perfect response

While A Level results may have been anything but expected this year, one thing is refreshingly familiar; Jeremy Clarkson’s annual tweet about failing his own A Levels nearly 40 years ago.

For years now, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? presenter has predictably tweeted about how he didn’t achieve the grades he wanted, but went on to holiday on a superyacht in the Med/buy multiple Range Rovers/pay for a chef to prepare him truffles for breakfast (pick your favourite).

This year, the 60-year-old has kept it classic, tweeting: “A level results not great? Don’t worry, I got a C and 2 Us and I’m currently building a large house with far reaching views of the Cotswolds”

And while some find it frustrating that the presenter tries to make the day about himself, others have been eagerly awaiting his input this year.

One follower responded to his tweet: “I await this tweet every year! Never fails to disappoint.”

Another simply wrote: “Petition to change #ResultsDay to #ClarksonDay instead.”

However, this year there was a slight difference in Jeremy’s message, as he sent a follow-up seemingly mocking those who have been left disappointed with their results following this year's calculated process due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote: “And I didn’t even get the chance to insist the government gave me three As instead.”

Unsurprisingly, the second tweet didn't seem to go down quite as well with his followers, with one responding “Your comment on this is bad taste”.

Well, there’s always next year.
