Is the Guido Fawkes website planning to launch an armoured assault on the BBC to mark its petition to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson getting to 1m signatures?
Monkey asks because Fawkes asked Twitter users on Monday if they knew how to get hold of a tank.
Need a tank in central London tomorrow. (Asking for a friend). guido.fawkes@order-order.com

On Thursday, the site promised a “big surprise” if the petition, then at more than 960,000, passed the landmark figure. It continued to push the petition on Friday, obviously keen to get to 1m by lunchtime.

The publicity around Clarkson’s foul-mouthed tirade against BBC bosses at a charity event on on Thursday night could help Guido’s petition top over 1m – although growth in the number of signatures has slowed in recent days.
Coincidentally, a friend of Monkey happened to spot a tank from a hire company based in Northants parked in a backstreet behind the Angel in Islington early on Friday. What could it possibly be doing?
Monkey wonders if Paul Staines will be leading the charge himself – or possibly the Stig? Either way, the BBC would be well advised to bone up on its anti-tank tactics.
