Jeremy Clarkson has made a major change at his Cotswolds pub, The Farmer’s Dog, after a customer’s request on social media.
The former Top Gear host, 65, bought the venue in Asthall, Oxfordshire, for £1 million and unveiled the revamped pub last August.
It has become hugely popular with fans and celebrities alike since its re-opening, with US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres even paying a visit.
Over the weekend, one fan urged Clarkson to open the pub earlier on Mondays after realising it has a later opening time on that day.
"Can you open your pub for me about six hours earlier on Monday, please? I was going to visit, but didn't realise you don't open until 5pm,” they wrote on X.
Clarkson replied: "Mondays are when our brilliant staff catch their breath."
It appeared the exchange had been weighing on The Grand Tour alum’s mind as he later decided that instead of opening later on Mondays, he was going to give his team the whole day off every Monday to help them “recharge”.
The Farmer’s Dog’s official Instagram account wrote: “We are giving our team Mondays to spend some well deserved time recharging - we will be open Tuesday to Sunday in both the pub and the Grand Tour tent.”
The post accompanied a photo of the team smiling while posing outside the pub.
The opening times have also been changed on The Farmer's Dog's website, stating that it’s now “closed” on Mondays.
The alteration comes after Clarkson’s Farm viewers saw the pub’s opening descend into chaos during the recent series four finale of his Amazon Prime Video show.
The toilets and kitchens were closed and huge crowds of customers were turned away in the episode, filmed last August.
In a tense exchange, Clarkson’s plumber said the problem was due to villagers in Asthall using all the water in the mains system - meaning there was none left for the pub, which is a mile away and up a hill.

“I was hoping the problem was something trivial, but the plumber quickly realised it was being caused by the village down the hill,” Clarkson said, looking concerned.
His plumber explained: “When everyone in the village is turning their water supply on, showers, filling up pots and pans and kettles, it doesn't then have the oomph to push it up the hill [to the pub].”
It has since been claimed that Clarkson’s mains water failed because Ellen DeGeneres was getting her swimming pool refilled at her nearby £15 million farmhouse.
“Pools of that size filled with normal mains water can take a week to nine days to fill - sometimes even longer depending on the local mains water pressure,” a local said.
DeGeneres bought her farmhouse in the Cotswolds last June after deciding to leave the US with wife Portia de Rossi following Donald Trump’s re-election.
