Jeremy Clarkson hosts acting 'legend' at his Cotswolds home

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he had a visit from an esteemed English actress at his Cotswolds home.

The former Top Gear star, 65, lives in the celebrity-approved bolthole in Oxfordshire, where he runs a 1,000-acre farm and the nearby pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

He’s no stranger to rubbing shoulders with A-listers, counting Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi as customers at his pub and exchanging texts with neighbour David Beckham.

And Clarkson added to his star-studded portfolio of pals as he revealed that acting “legend” Susan George came over on Monday night.

The 75-year-old is known for her roles in the 1971 thriller Straw Dogs with Dustin Hoffman, the 1974 action film Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry with Peter Fonda and the 1975 romance Mandingo with Ken Norton.

Clarkson shared a photo with the retired star on Instagram and revealed she has gotten into farming since quitting the film industry.

“Had a legend over this evening. She’s farming now. Only Boomers will know,” the former Grand Tour star wrote.

Fans flooded the comments with their praise, with one writing, “The timeless legendary Susan George!” while another added: “Wow, Susan is looking fantastic!”

Retired actress Rosie Marcel commented: "Susan George. Played my mother in Castle of Adventure! Lovely woman."

George lives in the countryside and runs a stud farm that breeds purebred Arabian horses. She also runs a charity in memory of her late husband, Simon MacCorkindale, who died from cancer in 2010.

Clarkson, meanwhile, is based in Oxfordshire and counts a number of celebrities as neighbours, including the Beckhams who own a £12 million Grade II-listed estate in Chipping Norton.

Over the summer, the presenter shared Beckham’s savage joke about his beer brand, Hawkestone.

“I’m going to betray a loyalty here. This is from David,” Clarkson told The Times.

“I said congratulations [on Beckham’s selection to guest edit Country Life magazine] and he replied, ‘Thanks for your message; not official yet, but if it happens I’ll have a nice pint of Stella.’”

Clarkson said he replied, “You had better f**king not,” to the football legend’s decision not to drink Hawkstone.

Meanwhile, last November, US comedian DeGeneres and her actress wife were seen enjoying a drink at Clarkson’s pub.

DeGeneres bought her farmhouse in the Cotswolds in 2024 after deciding to leave the US following Donald Trump’s re-election.
