Jeremy Clarkson is returning to our screens on Clarkson’s Farm, and has teased a scene in series six that left him “truly horrified”.
The former Top Gear host, 66, is currently shooting for the upcoming sixth series of his Prime Video series, after series five saw him shock viewers by revealing that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
With filming underway and episodes not expected to air until 2027, Clarkson gave a fan a hint about the new episodes on Wednesday (July 22).
The presenter responded to a fan on X, who said that they’d been working their way through the new episodes while eating their lunch and had been shocked at the graphic farming content on the show.
“So far I’ve eaten watching a sheep autopsy and a very blocked toilet in the pub. Is the next episode any safer?” they asked, with another of Clarkson’s followers responding: “Wait until you see the calf being born. Don’t watch it while eating.”
Clarkson then offered up a titbit about the new series, saying: “We filmed a scene yesterday that truly horrified me. It’s real farming and all my life, I just didn’t know. The animal btw loved it.”
First airing in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm follows the outspoken TV personality as he attempts to run Diddly Squat, the farm he owns near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. The show has proven a critical and commercial hit, with series five arriving on the streaming platform in June.
In the final episode of series five, Clarkson revealed that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer, but had thankfully caught it at a “really early stage”.
“I was praying we could get the harvest done and then I could go and get some treatment, but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle,” he told co-star Kaleb Cooper.
The episode ended with Clarkson’s trademark dark humour, with the presenter saying: “What I wanted to say was, if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six. And if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”
He later revealed that his cancer is in remission, as he called on the public to get checked.
“It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. And it’s a no-brainer,” he said. “I did, and that’s why I’m sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line. I’ve seen so many people die of cancer.”
In revealing his own diagnosis, Clarkson prompted thousands of men to check their own risk of the disease; more than 50,000 people used charity Prostate Cancer UK’s online risk checker in the week, marking a 640 per cent increase on the average week.
An estimated 64,000 men in Britain are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, with 12,000 deaths.
