Jeremy Clarkson fears 'killing several hundred animals' with JCB digger during sanctuary build

The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson is concerned what damage he did while using a JCB on his Oxfordshire farm.

The 59-year-old former Top Gear host revealed he was using the digger to create a sanctuary for animals such as otters and water voles when he made the blunder.

Jeremy told the Daily Star : "I didn't hesitate for a moment when the man from JCB handing me the keys to a 22-ton excavator asked if I knew what I was doing."

He confessed he had no knowledge on how to operate the machine but kept this under wraps due to his place in the "Testicle Owners' Club".

Continuing in more detail, Jeremy described: "Immediately, things went awry, because the thing wasn't driving down the slope. It was sliding...and starting to spin. Soon there was a 12ft deep hole."

Comparing the results of his actions to "a set from the film 1917", Jeremy was concerned about the impact of the "devastation" he caused.

He revealed: "I'm fearful I've killed several hundred animals. I've certainly torn apart several trees and 50 anthills."

Jeremy recently caused controversy with his comments regarding the Australian bushfire crisis in his column in The Sun.

The outspoken presenter had written: "I've suspected for some time God didn't want people to live in Australia.

"He created it as a continent far, far away where he could house all his experiments that had gone wrong."

Many took to social media to condemn the remarks as "chronic" and "awful".

We certainly can't see Jeremy changing any time soon, especially after his previous comments slamming climate change activist Greta Thunberg.
