Only 14 players have played for Manchester United and Manchester City since the Second World War.
Denis Law and Carlos Tevez directly swapped red for blue. Others have represented both at academy level but failed to break into the first-team at either, as Frederic Veseli did. Brian Kidd even played and coached for the senior sides at both clubs.
Jadon Sancho is the most recent example of a player representing both sides of Manchester after signing for United from Borussia Dortmund four years after leaving City. Jeremie Frimpong could become the next if reports prove to be true.

The Reds have been linked with the Bayer Leverkusen right back in recent months for a position currently being fought out by Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Erik ten Hag admitted there is close competition between the two as thing stand.
Discussions over renewing Dalot's contract are under way, while Wan-Bissaka is approaching the final year of his deal, albeit with the club having an option of extending it by a year. Should a sale for the latter be sanctioned, former City youngster Frimpong would be a realistic option to bring in.
The Dutch-born defender joined the City academy as a nine-year-old, progressing through the club's academy system to the under-21s set-up before joining Celtic in 2019 without making a senior appearance at the Etihad. Upon leaving, Frimpong made clear the impact the club had on him.
"I feel privileged to have been part of such club," he said. "Teammates, coaches, staff and fans have always been amazing to me, and I will never be able to repay them! Came as a boy; leave as a man. Man City will always be in my heart!"
Sancho shared similar sentiments that same year while still playing in Germany. "I still have love for Pep (Guardiola); I still love everyone at the club because they took me from Watford and helped me develop into who I am today."
Such statements did not stop the England international from returning to Manchester on the red side. Frimpong would be far from the first to follow in those footsteps should a move be made in the coming months.
