Jeremie Frimpong on his rapid Celtic rise and the Dani Alves film study in quest for perfection

Celtic rising star Jeremie Frimpong has named Dani Alves as the man he looks to emulate on the pitch, having impressed in his first league start.

The 18-year-old was given his chance by manager Neil Lennon on Saturday, starting in a 6-0 win over Ross County.

The former Manchester City youth had impressed in training, convincing Lennon to give him just his second Celtic appearance and his first in the Premiership.

Fans were excited by his performance, and the Dutchman has pointed to former Barcelona , Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Dani Alves as the player he's aiming to replicate.

Frimpong said: "I've always looked at Dani Alves and how he plays. I've always looked up to him.

"I think I can bring a lot to the team. Attacking and defensively. I'd love to make myself first choice.

"I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm really grateful and I'm going to keep working hard to keep it going.

"I'm going to work as hard as I can to keep making the fans, my team-mates and the manager proud.

"The fans are great and they've been amazing to me so far."
