Jeremie Frimpong hails Celtic return as rising star sets sights on Copenhagen glory

Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong was delighted to be back in Neil Lennon's squad as he made his long awaited return from injury.

The youngster was an unused substitute in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen as Kris Ajer sealed a crucial win for the champions.

The full-back hasn't featured since he was stretchered off in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock in January, when he was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Alan Power.

But the injury wasn't as bad as first feared as Frimpong returned to training earlier in the week and was included in today's matchday squad against the Dons.

Frimpong didn't feature at Pittodrie but he was over the moon to be fully fit again after a frustrating spell on the sidelines.

The rising star has also sets his sights on the first leg of their Europa League knockout tie against Copenhagen on Thursday night.

He said on Instagram: "Back in the squad!

"Three points! Big week ahead Celts."

Frimpong was a revelation for Celtic before his injury, but have managed to cope with his absence.

The Parkhead side have came flying out the blocks after the winter break and are ten points clear at the top of the Premiership after Sunday's three points against Derek McInnes' men.
