‘Jeopardy’ star James Holzhauer was pumped to see his favorite Babe Ruth quote come up

When you give a professional sports gambler an entire Jeopardy category about sports, it’s bound to be bad news for the competitors.

That’s what happened during Thursday’s edition of Jeopardy where (SPOILER) James Holzhauer extended his phenomenal streak to 31 with total winnings at $2,382,583. Ken Jennings’ record stands (for now) at $2,520,700.

Going up against a physician named Rob and a librarian named Megan, Holzhauer took on the “Childish Bambino” category, which consisted entirely on Babe Ruth facts. When the $800 question came up about the legendary baseball player, Holzhauer couldn’t hold back his smile upon answering it.

According to James, it was his favorite Babe Ruth quote.

He correctly responded with Hoover, referring to former President Herbert Hoover.

Shockingly, James wouldn’t sweep that category. He missed the $600 clue about Ruth being stripped of his captaincy. James incorrectly answered with “manager.”

Holzhauer would go on to win the episode easily, taking home $58,612. Both Megan and Rob put forth solid efforts heading into the Final Jeopardy round, but Holzhauer was the only one to answer it correctly.
