‘Jeopardy’ star James Holzhauer boldly wagers ‘all of it’ after falling behind early

For nearly the entirety of James Holzhauer’s remarkable run on Jeopardy, he looked unstoppable. But on Thursday, the professional sports gambler from Las Vegas found himself in an early hole.

Heading into the Daily Double, Holzhauer — who had won 25 straight editions of Jeopardy — was trailing Nate by $11,200.

He was in some serious trouble, so the sports gambler in Holzhauer came through once again in a huge spot. Faced with the need to come up big in the Daily Double, Holzhauer calmly motioned and said “all of it” for his wager. He didn’t even need to hesitate, knowing that a correct answer would put him within $3,000 of the lead.

This guy is too cool under pressure.

To the clue, “All of Romania’s mountains are part of this 900-mile-long mountain range,” Holzhauer correctly said, “What is the Carpathian?”

And he was right back in the game.

By the time the video had ended, James had jumped ahead by several thousand. He is a machine.

SPOILER:

He would hold on to win his 26th straight appearance on Jeopardy despite the scare from Nate.

His earnings stand at $1,991,135.
