Jeopardy contestant heartbreakingly missed a win by 1 letter in Final Jeopardy

Ooooooffff this hurts the most.

Just like a mispronunciation on Wheel of Fortune is tough to watch, the same goes here on Jeopardy!

Mehal was in the Tournament of Champions quarterfinal with a chance to move on, but one letter prevented him from winning.

The Final Jeopardy on Thursday was Latin Phrases, with this clue: “After Camillagate, a fire at Windsor Castle & marriage problems in her family, Queen Elizabeth II dubbed 1992 this.”

The answer? That would be What is annus horribilis?

And Mehal nailed it … except he missed an “i” in “horribilis.” And that doomed him. He was eliminated. What a bummer.
