Jenny McCarthy went through six months of "living hell" as she battled mould poisoning.
The 53-year-old TV star was struck down with a mysterious medical condition which started with a series of tooth infections and was followed by "growths" on her eye and she spent a long time talking to doctors trying to figure it out.
During an appearance on the Heal Squad podcast, Jenny explained: "The last time I was here I was literally on my way to the biological dentist because I had gone through six months of living hell."
She went on to explain she had "an infected root canal" which led to "three of these little toxic pools hiding underneath my wisdom teeth" which kept coming back.
After her dental issues, she then started having problems with "growths" on her eye which she described as the "nastiest whitehead, puss-filled eraser top".
She added: "I’m like: 'What the heck is this?’ They’re like you’re not washing your eyes enough. I’m like bulls***'."
Jenny continued to suffer infections in her mouth and she went to a doctor for help and they eventually discovered the reason behind all her infections.
She said: "I’m like: 'What is going on. What is happening?’ My functional medicine doctor said: 'OK, hold on. You’re the healthiest patient I have. We gotta go dig deeper' ...
"[The doctor figured out] The reason why you’re having constant infections, your body won’t heal, you’re oozing things is because you have mould. You have mycotoxin poisoning' ...
"Mould releases this toxin in the dust particles and what happens is most people … with good immune systems can handle it. People with weaker immune systems, people with leaky gut, candida, things I am already fighting [can’t] ...
"I have a certain mould that causes seizures. [My doctor] goes: 'If this thing that you’ve got crosses the blood brain barrier you’re going to be in the hospital having seizures'. I’m like: 'Oh, my God'."
Jenny suffered a further setback when she found out the battle had led to her becoming resistant to antibiotics, but she's since found a medical plan top get her health back on track,
She added: "I became antibiotic resistant last year. The mycotoxins made me antibiotic resistant, so no wonder why infection, infection, infection. I was taking all these antibiotics that weren’t working for me anymore."
