Oct. 01--Jenny McCarthy offered prayers to her ex-boyfriend Jim Carrey, who is mourning the death Monday of his on-again, off-again girlfriend Cathriona White, E! reports.
"Just prayers," McCarthy said when approached by a photographer in an airport this week and asked about Carrey.
White, an Irish-born makeup artist, was found dead in her California home Monday night. A representative for the Los Angeles County coroner's office told The Hollywood Reporter a suicide note was found but the cause of death is pending results of toxicology tests.
"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," Carrey said in a statement to multiple news outlets. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
Carrey, 53, reportedly met White in 2012 and dated on and off over the last three years.
Carrey and McCarthy, 42, ended their five-year relationship in 2010. McCarthy, who was born in Evergreen Park, married Donnie Wahlberg, of New Kids on the Block fame, last year in St. Charles.
The couple recently moved to St. Charles.
