2FM’s Jennifer Zamparelli has said Love Island stars Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard need “proper counselling.”
After appearing on the Apprentice ten years ago the radio host said she had a traumatic experience and would be worried about Longford beauty Maura once the fame dies down.
Speaking on her 2fm show, Zamparelli said: “I know Curtis from Dancing with the Stars, he had about 10,000 followers before he went into the show.
“He comes out and he has about 1.5 million people now following him.
“Now they turn on their phones, they’re looking at their phones, it’s not all going to be good.
“They’re going to go on [social media] and look and it’s just constant, it’s like getting punched in the face over and over and over again, I can imagine and it’s scary.
“They all need proper counselling even the ones that are doing well like Maura and Curtis.
“I’d be more concerned about them because what happens when it all stops? And managing all that and the expectations.”
And the Dancing with the Stars presenter urged people to think before they sent a nasty message online.
She added: “If I came out of the apprentice in this day and age because I was branded the ice queen and a bit of a bitch, I probably would have had the same abuse if there was Twitter back then.
“It’s a free for all on social media. I think you should think twice before you send that tweet, re-read it and just don’t send it.”
