Strictly Come Dancing bosses are said to be intent om recruiting the girlfriend of one of the original Geordie Shore cast for their new series.
Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe, better known to millions of viewers as Mercedes McQueen, is the latest star to be linked to the Strictly lineup for this year, after the likes of Jade Thirlwall, Joe Wicks, Cheryl and even Kylie Minogue have seen their names linked to the show.
And now Jennifer, who has previously competed in Dancing on Ice and has a child with Geordie Shore star Greg Lake, has been tipped to head into the BBC ballroom.
A source told the Mirror: "Soap stars always do well on Strictly and Jen is one of the most loved and sexiest out there right now.
“Everyone working on the show is very excited at the prospect of her signing.
“She’s been at the centre of some of Hollyoaks’ biggest ever storylines over the years.
“Only last year, her character was shot as she spun around a dance floor.
“People are joking that it was like her Strictly audition when she filmed those scenes.”
Hollyoaks stars have done rather well on Strictly over the years, with Ricky Whittle, Danny Mac and Chelsee Healey all reaching the final.
