Jennifer Lopez urges Britney Spears to 'stay strong' after ex Kevin posts parenting videos

Jennifer Lopez has reached out to Britney Spears with words of support after the pop princess quoted her in a post this morning about independence.

Jennifer shared a screengrab of the caption alongside a picture of herself and Britney in their youth alongside a message to the star to 'stay strong'.

Britney took to social media with her defiant JLo reference nine months after she was released from a 13 year conservatorship that dictated her personal life and finances.

Britney wrote: "In a world where you have the right to use your feet [foot emoji]… heart [heart emoji] … mouth [mouth emoji] … eyes [side eye emoji] … and body… to express yourself however you may [smile emoji] !!!

"Declaration of INDEPENDENCE … for equality and to be equal [hand shake emoji] !!! Not even touching, covering, and holding me against my will for 4 months !!!"

Britney continued the caption, giving a nod to friend and fellow singer. Quoting a line from Jennifer Lopez's speech ahead of her Super Bowl halftime show in 2020, Britney wrote: "Jennifer Lopez once said, “You look right down that camera and tell every little girl in the world to get loud and never ever back down to giving light to injustice “ ☺️ !!!

"I’m here to share that freedom is a state of mind !!! GOD BLESS U ALL[three heart emojis] Psss I shot this today !!!"

This latest post comes as the ongoing feud between Britney and ex-husband continues to escalate, with it escalating from a statement Kevin Federline said in an interview about her sons finding it 'tough' to see her post scantily clad pictures online.

Kevin then shocked fans by deciding to share footage online of Britney disciplining her sons.

The footage is believed to have been filmed and shared without the consent of Britney, and many people have leapt to Britney's defence including husband Sam Asghari, lawyer Mathew Rosengart and fans who called Kevin out for 'exposing' Britney 'being a mum'.

In a lengthy statement shared with Mirror Online, Mr Rosengart has criticised the violation of privacy Kevin has subjected on both Britney and her children.

He said: "Britney Spears is a brilliantly talented, extremely hardworking icon, who is rightfully beloved and respected by millions around the world.

"The same, unfortunately, cannot be said about Mr. Federline, who for reasons that are inexplicable, decided to give a gratuitous interview that has hurt the mother of his children.

"Britney has faithfully supported her children and she loves them dearly. Whether he realizes it or not, Mr. Federline has not only violated the privacy and dignity of the mother of his children, he has undermined his own children, whose privacy he should protect.

"Putting aside his ITV interview, Mr. Federline’s ill-advised decision to post an old video of his 11 and 12-year-old children was cruel, bottom of the barrel stuff. It was abhorrent."

It has been revealed that the ITV interview will not air in full as it is 'too hurtful'.

He continues to say: "In addition to demeaning himself and violating societal norms, he has now also created various legal issues for himself, including, but not limited to, implicating cyber-harassment and cyber-bullying statutes, among other things.

"It has been my honor to work with Britney, to suspend her father as conservator, to help her gain her freedom and dignity, and to help protect her from the type of bullying she endured in the past — and we will not tolerate bullying in any area."

The Hollywood lawyer revealed that he was working with Instagram to ensure Britney's ex-husband would adhere to the rules. He said: "We are working with Instagram to ensure that Mr. Federline adheres to its rules and we are exploring all appropriate relief against him.

"In the meantime, as Britney poignantly said, whatever is occurring between her and her boys should remain private. We urge Mr. Federline to act with a measure of grace and decency and to cease from publicly discussing private matters, which benefits no one."
