Jennifer Lopez suffered a nasty face injury while rehearsing for her hosting gig at the upcoming American Music Awards.
The pop icon, 55, revealed she had to get stitches after sustaining a gash at the top of her nose during an incident onstage last week.
Lopez shared a photo of herself smiling at the camera while holding an ice pack over her nose on her Instagram Story on Tuesday and wrote: “So this happened...”
The On The Floor singer than posted a close-up shot of her swollen nose and cheek and clarified that it had happened “during AMA rehearsals”.
Lopez went to see celebrity facial, plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond in Beverly Hills to get the laceration stitched up and declared that she’s now “good as new”.
Sharing a smiling photo with Diamond, the Hustlers actress wrote: “Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I'm good as new.”
The star’s discoloration and swelling on her face and nose appeared to have gone down and the injury looked fully healed.
Lopez will be hosting and performing at the AMAs in two weeks’ time on Monday, May 26 - a decade after she last fronted the prestigious awards ceremony in 2015.
She has performed at the annual event more than 10 times in the past and made her debut there in 2001.
The upcoming broadcast will air on Memorial Day and takes place at the new Fontainebleau luxury resort in Las Vegas. She took home the for favourite Latin artist in 2011.
Elsewhere, Lopez’s ex-husband Ben Affleck recently praised the singer, calling her an “enormously important, tremendous” person.
Affleck - who finalised his divorce from Lopez in January after two years of marriage - said at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film The Accountant 2: “She’s great to my kids.
“I have a great ongoing relationship with her kids. I love her kids – they’re wonderful. She’s an enormously important, tremendous person with a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.
“The relationships that you can have with children like that – it’s the joy of my life,” he continued. “Those kids are amazing, and I’m glad this is a movie they wanted to come to.”
Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner - Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13 – and remains close to Lopez’s 17-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The Good Will Hunting star brought all five kids to the premiere of The Accountant.
