Jennifer Lopez signs production deal with Netflix after 'confirming Ben Affleck romance'

Jennifer Lopez has signed a brand-new deal with Netflix amid her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck.

The Hollywood star, 51, who owns Nuyorican Productions is set to team up with the streaming giant for a number of upcoming films and series – which will feature the age-defying star.

The production company has set its sights on producing both scripted and unscripted features, with a focus on projects supporting “diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers,” according to Netflix.

Jennifer’s deal with Netflix also includes two previously announced films, where she plays the main character in both.

The first movie, called Mother, is directed by Mulan filmmaker Niki Caro and follows a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to help her daughter survive.

The actress is currently in training for the amazing role, and filming is set to begin next year ahead of its planned release in late 2022.

Her second film, The Cipher, is based on the novel by Isabel Ojeda Maldonado.

Chart-topping singer Jennifer has not only branched out to acting in recent years, she’s also worked as a producer on films including Second Act and Hustlers - both of which she starred in.

Lifting the lid on her exciting new venture with Netflix, Jennifer revealed: “I am so excited to announce my new partnership with Netflix.

“Elaine, Benny and I believe there is no better home for us than a forward leaning content creation company that seeks to defy conventional wisdom and directly market to the millions across the globe who no longer view art and entertainment with the kind of boundaries and limitations of the past.”

It’s truly an exciting time for the singer turned actress in both her professional and personal life.

The Love Don’t Cost A Thing hitmaker has recently been rumoured to have rekindled her romance with former fiancé, Ben Affleck, after 17 years apart.

The couple – who were Hollywood’s golden couple in the early 2000s - have been romantically linked following the end of Jennifer's engagement to baseball star Alex Rodriguez, and Ben's split from actress Ana de Armas.

Although the pair have been making headlines, they have not yet announced their reunion, and instead have been “telling friends that they are back together”.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the lovebirds have defined their relationship with family and friends, and things between them are “incredibly serious”.

“J.Lo and Ben are very much a couple and have been telling friends that they're together,” the source said.

“When they first reconnected, they had to see if the spark was still there because it had been a while. It was, so now they are both fully in it.”

“They have” talked about the past and why things didn't work out. They are both hopeful about their relationship this time around and putting the effort in. They have both matured and are on the same page and it has been easy.”

The couple recently took a trip to Miami, staying at Jennifer's beach-side villa, with the couple seen lounging on the balcony together and taking in the Florida sunshine.

They also headed away to Montana together prior to their Miami trip and with the couple making summer plans, their next trip is likely to be the next of many more to come.
